FAQs: FAQ

What is SMP?

Scalp micropigmentation is a hair follicle replication procedure which helps individuals who are experiencing hair loss, or who may have scarring on their heads that they wish to cover up. You know that confident, powerful look that says “I could have a full head of hair, but I’ve chosen to shave it down to the follicle?” That’s the SMP style.

How much does the treatment cost?

Treatment pricing depends on the amount and the type of hair loss you have, our prices for full treatment generally go anywhere from $1200 to $2500 for most alopecia cases. Most clients will need 2-3 sessions to achieve an optimal look.

Do I have to wait to see results?

Absolutely not! You can see the results immediately after. Sometimes clients get redness in their scalp after the treatment; however, this is completely normal and the redness recedes in 24-48 hours.

How long does SMP take?

After SMP cost, this question is one of the most frequently asked. SMP treatments on average take around 2-4 hours for the first and second session, and the third one can be as short as one to two hours. However, if the treatment is smaller, e.g. a scar camouflage, the length will be significantly less.

How long does SMP last?

This varies on each client. We give a span of 3-6 years before you have to come for a re-touch session. We recommend following the post care instructions to maximize the results of your treatment and ensuring lengthy results.

What are the post care instructions?

Although you don't have to take any down time from your regular routine after getting SMP, you do need to follow some guidelines to ensure optimal skin healing. You can check out these instructions in both Spanish or English here:

Is SMP painful?

Having performed many SMP procedures, we can confidently tell you that it's more of a discomfort feeling, any pain involved is generally far less than most of our clients expect. Discomfort levels vary by person, and by the level of previous work they’ve received, such as transplants. But on average, our clients would rate their discomfort between 0 and 2 on a scale from 0-10.

Is there a refund policy?

Yes! All work performed at our studio is backed with a lifetime guarantee. No risk, just reward.

Is SMP any different than traditional tattoos?

Yes. SMP and tattooing both consist of making marks on the skin by ingraining an indelible pigment into the dermis. However, the SMP application process, custom pigments, mapping, client management and technician training are extremely specialized.

If i have light skin, and light or blonde hair can I get SMP?

Absolutely yes. Our specialized pigments have a wide range of tones specialized for any skin color.
